Since elementary school, I dreamt of becoming a physician. I made it my mission to never half step nor settle for anything other than the best. Although I was
told my MCAT score was too low and that I did not have enough research in my field, I took a leap of faith and applied to medical school. And On May 28, 2015, my dream became vivid as I was accepted into Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee.
It may sound cliché, but I love to help others better
themselves, especially those of lower socioeconomic status. I recognize how debilitating a lack of finances can be. I am a testament to the ways in which my family have overcome financial hardships. Although they are very resilient, the cost of four years of medical school is a bit overwhelming for us all. Medical school costs an average of $300,000. Without the AMCAS Fee Assistance Program, I would have barely been able to afford application fees alone.
So, I am asking for your help. My classes start June 22nd. With such short notice, my family and I will be unable to afford all the necessary expenses. I am asking you to trust in and support my dream.
For me, admittance into medical school is just another sign from God confirming that I am on the right path. I have no doubt that I will obtain my goal because I have been speaking it into existence for 15 years. With your assistance, I hope to ease my financial burden.
