SUPPORT LICENSURE OF CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL MIDWIVES IN ILLINOIS!
It is time to start pushing! The Illinois Council of Certified Professional Midwives is preparing for our next attempt at licensure for CPMs in Illinois.
Major changes have been occurring in the midwifery world. All of the major national midwives’ organizations have joined forces to create language that we will use as the foundation for our new licensure bill – a bill we expect will gain more traction than others have in the past, due to more standardized education requirements.
In just a matter of weeks The Coalition for Illinois Midwifery, our lobbying organization, will be filing this bill – The Home Birth Safety Act. Therefore, we must start fundraising now, to cover the costs of lobbying which are expected to approach $15,000.00
PLEASE SUPPORT ILLINOIS MIDWIVES AND BRING HOME SOMETHING NICE FOR YOURSELF!
Donations of $25 - $49 will receive a thank you in the form of a 5x7 quilted work, suitable for wall hanging.
Donations of $50 - $99 will receive an 8x10 similar quilted work.
Donations of $100 and above will receive a “Prayer Flag” of three quilted pennants.
All quilted items crafted by local birth artisan Karen Kells.
Designs will vary. BUT! If you make your donation before September 30, you can choose your (solid) color and design. We will email you for the details.
Incentive items will be mailed by end-November.
