Madison's Texas Sized Story: Part 2

Instead of 1 tumor like last time, we are now dealing with 4 tumors. FOUR! They range in size from 9mm, the smallest, to about 2.5cm, the largest. 2.5cm=1inch just for reference.
Yes, Madison relapsed.
So essentially there has been no recurrence at the original tumor site, but to the areas that were not included in the radiation field. Madison's type of tumor is very radio-sensitive. It rarely goes away without radiation. You have to be careful in the younger children how much radiation they receive so we only gave her radiation right to the primary tumor site. So, it is the same tumor which has recurred in areas that were not radiated. Now we will do one cycle of different chemotherapy and repeat brain MRI, if chemo is working we will do one more cycle and then begin craniospinal radiation.
It could creep up in the spine next so we just need to make sure we get it all and ASAP!
This means we will start the chemotherapy on Wednesday 03/23/2016. Go big or go home!
Days 1-3 will be in the medicine room, then she will be admitted the evening of day 3 and receive days 4-5 inpatient.
Then from there, I don't know.
Jason will have to stay behind. He will not be able to come back with us.
