Stefanie's Gastroparesis fight

Donation protected
Stefanie is a young, loving, beautiful, strong person. Her Kindness and love radiates from within. Anyone who knows her, knows that she is a gem. She is not one to ask for help. We as her family know that she needs this though, more now than ever. Any donation size helps!! We appreciate all of the donations, love, support, prayers and assistance you may be able to offer. Stefanie (who has worked hard to support her family all of these years) has had to take a leave of absence and cannot physically work due to the severe pain and side effects.

From Colleen, Stefnanies Mother- "My daughter Stefanie has endured so much. She has worked her entire adult life to provide for her family. She is the mother of a beautiful 14 year old (who also has medical struggles) and is in the midst of a divorce. We as a family are so Thankful for any help you can provide. She is not able to work at this time due to her health and she is not yet eligible for assistance from resources. We are working to help her receive those. It takes time. Her gastroparesis is kicking her butt. She is so strong, I have never admired anyone so much for taking care of and supporting her family all these years. She needs everyone to support her now physically, mentally, emotionally , spiritually and financially while we continue to search for her relief from this illness. Medical costs have mounted, but in the more urgent and near future, she is struggling to make ends meet, She needs help with bills, rent, and living expenses. She is going back to Seattle next week to see a specialist. I Love Her so much, and so does her entire family."

From Jo Ann, Stefanies Grandmother-"
Our oldest Granddaughter, Stefanie is 33years old,and is raising a teenage daughter. She started to have unexplained stomach pain in 2010. She had gallbladder surgery the following year. The surgery did not solve the problem. After lengthy investigaton by several Doctors she received a diagnosis of Gastropersis in 2013. (See mayo clinic medical site). She has suffered greatly and there is no cure. This is a painful process for Stefanie and her family. She now finds it difficult to work and needs a leave of absence without any benefits. Thank you for your interest and if you can help Stefanie"

Appointments & care
At Mayo Clinic, we take the time to listen, to find answers and to provide you the best care.

Gastroparesis is a condition in which the spontaneous movement of the muscles (motility) in your stomach does not function normally.

Ordinarily, strong muscular contractions propel food through your digestive tract. But in gastroparesis, your stomach's motility works poorly or not at all. This prevents your stomach from emptying properly. Gastroparesis can interfere with normal digestion, cause nausea and vomiting, and cause problems with blood sugar levels and nutrition.

The cause of gastroparesis is usually unknown. When this is the case, it's called idiopathic gastroparesis (IG). When people who have diabetes develop gastroparesis, it's called diabetic gastroparesis (DG). Some people develop gastroparesis after surgery.

There is no cure for gastroparesis, but changes to your diet, along with medication, can offer some relief.
