Hello, my name is Melanie Rutherford. I write this story with pride because my daughter Moriah Taylor Rutherford is on her way to start her sophomore year at the prestigious Howard University, but we need your assistance as circumstances beyond our control have affected her scholarships for the upcoming school year. Moriah is currently involved with numerous organizations including Amistad Liiterary Journal, Howard Michigan Club and Howard Midwest Club. Additionally, she is now a Mighty Marching Bison. One thing that sets Moriah apart is that she is also an entrepreneur. She has taken her future into her own hands and is launching her online pop-up store 248 Vintage. Her drive and tenacity are traits that will lead her to great success in her future and gifts she will use to give back and pay it forward. In keeping with that spirit, after we reach our fundraising goal we will giving any additional funds to another sophomore in college who attended Pontiac Schools. Your gift not only helps Moriah, but also will aid another student continue on their educational journey. I hope you will consider and please join us at our event: Sophomore Swag on August 3, 2019 from 5-10 pm at Alley Cat Cafe in Pontiac. Please contribute, it takes a village
