Skye Fund-Infant Loss/ Cuddle Cot

My family and I are looking to raise money to purchase a Cuddle Cot for the hospital to use, which has been internationally recognized across the world as significantly helping parents who suffer the loss of a baby.
This is our families story and how this incredible item could have helped our pain and suffering during the most difficult time in our lives.
On November 2015 my 23 year old daughter, Amanda, went for an Ultrasound to find out the sex of her baby, a girl whom was named Skye. Unfortunately during the ultrasound it was detected that Skye had two holes in her heart and a small aortic valve and that she would need open heart surgery upon her delivery. The doctors were concerned that Skye may have further health issues and an amniocentesis is requested. As a family, we were prepared for any surgeries or disabilities that baby Skye may potentially have, but we were not prepared for the news we were about to receive.
On December 3rd, 2015 my daughter and her boyfriend, Justin, received a call requesting that they go to the hospital as soon as possible. When they arrived, they were notified by the doctor that their precious baby had Koolen de Vries Syndrome. Skye was only the 34th confirmed case of this syndrome in the entire world and the first case in Ottawa. Amanda and Justin were told that their un-born child would never walk, talk, would only ever be fed by a feeding tube and that she would not be strong enough to endure 2 open heart surgeries when she was born. In essence, she would have no quality of life and would never leave the hospital. The doctor informed Justin and Amanda that is would be best to end her pregnancy at 21 weeks.
On December 4th, 2015, my daughter was admitted into the hospital, and with her boyfriend and me by her side the doctors performed a procedure that stopped Skye’s heart. She passed away a 2:03 pm December 4th, 2015.
Amanda was then induced.
December 5th, 2015 at 1:41 am, Skye Livie Fox Braid Wetmore entered this world as a stillborn. My daughter held her a short while before falling asleep because she was very sick from the inducing medicine.She had been vomiting and high fever. She was put on IV and nurses stayed by her bed .Justin, Amanda’s Dad, Ron, and I then spent the rest of the night holding Skye; doing finger and foot prints and dressed her in a pink dress and blanket. I ended up stay up all night holding Skye as Amanda, Justin and my husband slept. I could not put her down in the crib, it was my last time with her.
In the early hours of the morning Amanda woke up and got to hold her baby, have pictures taken and say good bye. Skye’s body was deteriorating and it was hard for us all to watch. We ended up leaving hospital that day after our short goodbyes. We did not want to see her like that.
If there had been a Cuddle Cot, which has a system that cools the baby in situ allowing the baby to remain with the family thereby providing the family time they want. Amanda would have had more time with her daughter. Our family would like to raise the funds required to purchase a Cuddle Cot to be used at the Ottawa hospital in Skye's name for others who will lose their babies to soon.
