So many people have stepped up so generously! Thank you! Go Fund Me sent emails saying we could raise the goal. So here is part 2 of the dream. Not only does Sheree go to this great writer's workshop, but after learning much, and being inspired, she then has the time to go home and write off this great experience for a couple of weeks in peace. Sounds good doesn't it? So we went ahead and upped the goal! Many thanks!

My colleague and friend Sheree Renée Thomas has won the amazing opportunity to attend a writer’s workshop with novelist Luis Alberto Urrea at Bread Loaf Environmental Writers Conference at Middlebury College in Vermont this summer. Out of hundreds of applicants only five were chosen to work with this award winning author, whom Sheree admires.

However, this brilliant opportunity comes with a steep price tag. That is where we all come in. Let's raise these costs for Sheree so she can pay the tuition, buy a plane ticket from Tennessee, leave her bills paid at home, (as she will lose paid work to attend the workshop,) and have some dollars left in hand for daily needs and emergencies.

5,100.00 will cover these expenses. I hope that fans, friends, and colleagues who have admired Sheree’s brilliant writing, or benefited from her visionary editing and teaching, might step up with whatever they can spare. Let's make sure Sheree can take this great opportunity: work with an admired, master writer on her gorgeous new novel, network with other visionaries, and have time to create.

Above all, Sheree needs time to focus on her own writing without the constant pressure of financial worries and family obligations. She is an author who has lifted many, many other artists through her generous vision, editorial genius, and producing skills. Won't it be great for her to have a peaceful month to work her own stories and poems, and contemplate her own dreams?
(And then we get to read the new works, too!)

The tuition for the conference and workshop is due in April, 2018, so we have no time to lose. I believe we can do this! Let's make it happen for Sheree!

Please give all you can, and share with everybody you know, as often as you can. I thank you for your consideration! Artists and lovers of the arts gotta stick together!

Please appreciate Sheree's brilliant resume right here, and go check out her gorgeous, groundbreaking books, too. They are available at Aqueduct Press.

Hi Dear Supporters of Sheree Reneé Thomas' gofundme campaign, Thanks to you, Sheree is going to the Bread Loaf conference. And I went about raising our goal to 6,000, to add in some extra writing time for Sheree post-conference. We're at 5,755.00 so, nearly there, and stubborn me, I want us to get ALL the way there. It is not a huge amount of $ in the scheme of things, but it will go to very, very good use. If you know anybody to share this campaign with, or if you are willing to share again, I'd be very grateful! Thank you again!

Dear friends who donated to Sheree - I said I'd be signing off, but then we kept raising more money thanks to the stunning generosity of all of you! Go Fund Me sends me emails saying 'up your goal.' We did, and made it again! Should I do it one more time and try for 6,000? It would mean, if we made it, that Sheree could go to the workshop, and after learning lots of great stuff and being inspired, she'd have even more time to write after, without worries. But I want to ask you all because I know many of you helped out by sharing and donating! Let me know your opinion if you feel like doing so!

An update from Sheree before we sign off:

"I have been weeping and weeping, so grateful and filled with light for all this support from old and new friends, fellow travelers and artists, folks I absolutely adore and respect, generous souls I don't even know near and far, and these amazing anonymous angels! " -- March 23, 2018 I posted this on Facebook two days ago because I was so overjoyed with astonishment at my dear friend Pan Morigan's tremendous efforts and the overwhelming support from all of you! Because of your kind generosity, I WILL be attending the Bread Loaf Environmental Writers' Conference this summer, and I am so thrilled to be able to study with the incredible Luis Alberto Urrea! He is an amazing writer--a novelist, poet, journalist-- and if you haven't already, do explore his work. Right now I am a ball of anxious joy and grateful energy, still shaking my head at the wonder of it. I am dreaming awake--writing hard and writing deeply, and getting my mind ready to continue this journey, navigating this big, beautiful new work. Thank you again for all your support! With much love and thankfulness to each and every one of you! Sheree

Dear Friends! We did it - and in four days! Thanks to you, we raised 5,255.00 which after fees will surely make that nice round figure of 5,000 or a tad more in Sheree's writer hand. A beautiful moment in hard times. I'm so grateful. Thank you. Signing off now, Pan Morigan
