My Mission Trip to Honduras

Dear Friend and Family,
I hope this letter finds you and your family doing well. I wanted to give you an update on what the Lord is doing in my life. Currently, I am a junior at Bunker Hill High School. After graduation, I plan on attending Application State University where I will study to become a teacher. Over the past few years, the Lord has been working in my life in tremendous ways. Recently, He has provided me with the opportunity to go on a short-term mission trip on July 15th through 22nd to visit Hermossa, Honduras with my youth group at Woodlawn Baptist Church.
While we are there, our team will be sharing the love of Christ by hosting day camps, Bible clubs, and feeding stations for the children in Vista Hermossa and the surrounding community. We will also have the opportunity to help with the construction of their new church building, (as the current ministry in their village is planting a church), host sports tournaments with teenagers, do evangelism and go into their schools. I am very excited to see what the Lord teaches me through this experience.
While God has opened up a door for me to develop a greater heart of compassion for His people around the world, the exciting part is that you will be able to share in this compassion in several ways. First, you can help pray for my fellow team members and me. We will need prayers that God will prepare us for our visit and bless our efforts as we minister to the people of Honduras. We will also need prayers that our financial needs will be met. I will need $1800.00 to attend this experience. This money will pay for airfare, food, lodging, passport, shots, and the Lord Ministry.
Another way you can be involved is to help provide that financial support. This trip is individually funded, so I will be raising my own support. Would you consider supporting me with a donation? Any donations would help greatly.
Please make checks payable to Logan Matthews, or if you want a tax exemption make the check payable to Woodlawn Baptist Church and in the memo section put my name. Whether you feel led to contribute financially, through prayer, or both, all of your support is greatly appreciated.
