Send Us to Rio!

Road to Rio:

Florida Swim Network  hopes to do extensive coverage of the 2016 Rio Games, beginning with the Olympic Trials and then traveling to Rio.

We will be reporting on all swimmers who train in the state of Florida, including not only the US athletes but also the international athletes who train here and will be returning to and competing for their home countries.

Our goal is to showcase every swimmer who trains in the state of Florida--something that has never done before!

We want to be in Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Olympic Games, shining a spotlight #TeamFlorida!

Rio 2016!

We plan to set up an “FSN Hub” where the athletes and coaches from Florida know to stop by for interviews, video chats with their teams back home, photos and more.

This coverage further reinforces that the coaches and club teams in the Sunshine State are some of the best in the world.   We love #TeamFlorida and want to showcase how great it is!

We also want you, the swimmers back home, to feel like you have a personal connection to Rio—what great inspiration and motivation during those daily practices!

As always, our content will be available to everyone for viewing anytime, anywhere--at no cost!

Our Expenses:

To help make this Rio trip possible, we need to raise $32,800 total to travel with our crew and produce this coverage.

We plan to take our broadcast crew of 9 people, including our hosts, cameramen, as well as production and post-production staff.

Estimated Expenses:

$7,650 - Airfare for 9 assuming $850 roundtrip
$1,800 - Airport shuttle at $100 per person
$1,440  - Visas to enter Brazil at $160 per person
$13,500  - 5 hotel rooms at $300 per night for 9 nights
$2,250  - Per diem @ $25 per day for 10 days
$6753 - $25 per shirt, 3 per crew member
$2,500 - Equipment rental (cameras, tripods, etc.)
$2,000 - Production Expenses
$1,000 - Venue rental for “FSN Hub”

$32,815 Total

We look forward to covering #TeamFlorida at the 2016 Rio Olympics and bringing you, their teammates, all the coverage!

More About Florida Swim Network:

Since 2011, Florida Swim Network  has been the go-to source for swimming news in the state of Florida, delivering live broadcasts, photo and video archives, as well as complete website coverage. We take you to the action, go behind-the-scenes, and offer online coverage you can access anytime from anywhere--but can’t get from anyone else!

We’ve recently added a weekly online show called the “SwimmerJoe Show ” which features an interactive video chat with coaches and allows viewers to engage and ask him or her questions directly:

And, in our biggest move yet, we’ve partnered with Bright House Sports Network to produce the weekly TV show “ON DECK with Florida Swim Network .” This is the first-ever weekly TV show to focus on swim coaches and athletes from around the state.

And while you would think all these cool things would have us rolling in advertising dollars, much of what we do is still self-funded, so we appreciate you helping us get to Rio to shine a spotlight on #TeamFlorida!
