Doctors just recently found that my sister, Julia Roberts Humphrey, has 8 tumors. One of the tumors is in her pituitary gland and is causing her to lose her vision. It's also causing headaches, bleeding from the nose, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and breathing trouble. Other tests indicate the beginning stages of pancreatic cancer, and my sister's prognosis does not look good.
Meanwhile, Julia has been trying to raise money to pay the last of our deceased father's debts. The amounts owed are $2194.90 to the nursing home, $3116.41 to the funeral home, and $528.00 to the Register Of Wills.
To make matters worse, the court has said they need this amount by November 12th, or they will take our family home and Julie will have no place to live. The court has no leniency in the matter; when told about my sister's medical conditions, the court would only say that it's not their problem.
Other ways you could help:
My sister's vision is failing and she can no longer drive. Her husband, Mike, can sometimes take her where she needs to go. However, they are willing to sell their truck, which is a 2001 Toyota 4 Runner. Unfortunately, it looks like its value could be much less than what is needed, but we're interested in hearing from someone wanting to purchase it.
