Help Save My Horses

My horses were taken from me because the authorities have no knowledge or understanding of horses. They filed two cases against me. The first was for two 26 year old horses that were thin. Even though they knew I was giving them proper supplements, they still arrested  and prosecuted me. It was a bench trial (the judge decides) and I lost. I am in the process of filing an appeal.

The second case is insane. They claimed the horses had no water to drink, because the water was all frozen. In fact, I provided them with video showing them that there was unfrozen water available for drinking. I have posted that video for all to see.

There was a hearing to see if I had to post a security for the care of the horses. In order to win this hearing I had to show, by a preponderance of the evidence, that the horses had water to drink. I showed the video that shows water. The judge ruled against me anyway. On the strength of this, he gave me five days to come up with $13,000 to cover the cost of caring for my 13 horses while I was being prosecuted. After spending so much on my defense, I could not come up with the money, the judge ordered the horses forfeited.

My fear is that these outrageous rulings by this town judge, who by his own admission knows nothing about horses, will become precedents. Anyone who has a thin, old horse could be arrested. Anyone whose water freezes in the winter could be arrested.

I need the money to get my horses back while I  continue to work through the courts to appeal these outrageous rulings from this town judge.
