(Scroll Down for Update/Progress Videos) Aloha School in Hanalei was severely damaged in the massive flood that occurred last weekend on the north shore of Kauai.  Upate: The National Weather service announced the rain meter in Hanalei showed 49.69 inches of rain over a 24hr period, which would break the record for US rainfall.

Well over 3 feet of water rushed through the building and playground for hours on end, affecting all areas & destroying our classrooms, with extensive damages inside and out.

The 36 lovely pre-school age children who attend the school, along with all the amazing teachers & parents, are truly crestfallen. This school was a sancuary for our kids to learn & play, and it's been taken from them.

If you have ever visited this beautiful island you have most certainly felt the Aloha Spirit, and we ask that you find it once again so we can quickly repair & rebuild our children’s beloved preschool.

Even if you cannot donate financially, please SHARE our story on your social media outlets, it will go such a long way in helping these kids!

Aloha & Mahalo Nui Loa!

An INCREDIBLE amount of repairs have been accomplished. We still have a long way to go, but thanks to all of YOU we are finally able to open our doors to the kids! Thank you so much to each & every one of you for your love & support to our school & Keiki. MAHALO!

At the very end of April we had wood floors installed in both of our indoor classrooms, they look wonderful! Since then we have also been installing the flooring in the outdoor classroom (the one that needed the cement pour), our main walkway by the lunch area, and in the office.

Around the same time, teachers, parents, friends and volunteers gathered for an 'Art Day'. It was a welcome break from the mud and hard labor, where instead everyone got to bring some much needed color back into the school. Many cheerful paintings and designed rocks were created. Eventually we'll find a fun and creative way to display them all once the construction is more in order.

We hope you enjoy this update video and it gives you a taste of Aloha Spirit!

Thank you all for everything. More updates to come.

A fresh coat of paint inside and out and concrete poured in the outdoor classroom is drying - we are making progress!

Items that have been salvaged and thoroughly cleaned are being loaded into a container for temporary storage while we continue repairs throughout the school.

THANK YOU AGAIN to EVERYONE that has been able to help; be it volunteer work, donations or sharing our story, ALL of it is making a HUGE difference. It's because of you that the kids & teachers will get their school back.

We are very close to our gofundme goal, please share our page on your social media accounts to help spread the word!

As you can see from the slideshow, we have been incredibly hard at work! From sunrise to sunset our focus has been entirely on rebuilding the school for the children. We've had the most incredible people help with the demolition & clean up thus far.

Yet our journey has only just begun. There is SO VERY MUCH left to accomplish now that we are entering the rebuilding phase, and we still need the necessary funds to complete the repairs.

We have not rested since the flood has ravaged our school and we will not stop until it's rebuilt safely & beautifully as it once was for our 36 wonderful children.

BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP! The reconstruction phase needs professionals on deck to complete all the expertise portions. If you have not yet donated, please consider doing so now.

If you cannot give financially, that's ok too - you can actually give just as much and then some by sharing our story on social media - sharing our story makes ALL the difference in the world.

A GIANT MAHALO to EVERYONE thus far who has contributed... Family, Friends, Volunteers, Donators, Social Media Sharers, Professionals... ALL of you are lifesavers and are making a HUGE difference in our children's lives!!
