Covering Sanders Dems in the South

While Bernie Sanders may have lost the South during the Democratic Primary, he won the millenial vote across the South. The ripple effect of the organizing by young folks is now starting to be felt. All across the South, young people inspired by the Sanders campaign are starting to run for local offices as Sanders Democrats.
These Sanders Democrats are talking seriously about "sewer socialism" and how to apply Bernie's policies to small town and cities across the South. Sanders Democrats could do very well in a lot of muncipal elections across and have a big impact in munciplatized plagued by gentrification and racism on things like affordable housing, polic brutality, public transportation, and wages .
Yet, there is absolutely no coverage of the growing Sanders Democrats movement in South in the corporate media. If the Sanders movement wants to be reported on accurately, then we must build alternative media systems such as Payday Report to do the reporting.
As the South first consumer/worker digital news co-op, PaydayReport.com hopes to cover exactly these kind of stories that can both help create dialogue aimed at educationg activists and supporting efforts to get more people organizing in the South.
More than this, its smart business. Last week, I was able to make 15 dollars an hour covering the Honeywell lockout as a result of 26 donations from rank and file union activist contributing on average of $23.40.
