SGWS LA Employee Disaster Relief
Donation protected
Hello, my name is John Berry, and as an employee of Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits, I've been asked to spearhead this campaign on behalf of those fellow employees who are in need. Over the course of the past two weeks, many of our friends, family and co-workers have sustained catastrophic damage to their homes and property from the recent flood waters in the Greater Baton Rouge area and parishes, and portions of Lafayette and surrounding parishes.
Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits employees are part of that number. Over 25 SGWS employees were impacted in some way, either by loss or displacement. 13 employees sustained damage to their homes, their automobiles and other property, or both. As SGWS employees, many of us want to help our co-workers in some way, either with our resources or our time. With rebuilding efforts already underway, the hope is to make whatever funds we raise available to those who sustained losses no later than September 15th. Your contribution will go directly into the hands of those that sustained damage to assist them in repairing and replacing their damaged property and restoring their lives to normalcy. An oversight committee of peers has been formed to manage the disbursement process to insure fairness and transparency to both beneficiaries and donors.
Most of us in South Louisiana have felt the devastation on some level from previous storms and the force of Mother Nature. That is what makes this even more personal for us all. Your contribution, regardless of what it may be, will be forever appreciated by those that need our help today. On behalf of our friends in need, thank you!
