Families and children in Flint, MI are in a water crisis.
They need our help!
The drinking water of Flint became contaminated when their water system was switched from the Detroit water system to the Flint River. Corrosion of the water pipes resulted in lead making its way into their water.
The water system has been switched back to the Detroit system, but the pipes have been corroded and contamination continues. Flint residents are still being advised to not drink the water. Flint Pulic Schools' water is still unsafe and children need an ongoing supply of safe water.
Some children have 2 to 3 times the acceptable lead levels in the their blood. High levels of lead exposure can impair the cognitive abililies of children that will impact them for the rest of their lives.
We are collecting donations to deliver to Flint to help the men, women and children of Flint, Michigan. All supplies collected will go to Flint and all the money collected (minus the fees associated with this site) will go to help the families of Flint.
Flint families are in need of:
Bottled water (cases preferred, but any donation needed)
Gallons of water
Baby formula water
Water faucet filters that remove lead and replacement filters
Lead water testing kits
The money raised will be used to purchase the above needed goods and will be given to schools/charities as needed!
