Sierra/Simon Bush Memorial Fund
$10,075 of $10,000 goal
Having finished high school at Meridian Technical Charter High School with a 3.82 GPA, Sierra had joined the Honors College at Boise State University. She was also a member of clubs such as the Boise State Bee Team.
By late September, news hit that Sierra had gone missing. We gathered together, creating a facebook group spread the word and find Sierra. Unfortunately, Sierra’s body was found Saturday, October 22nd near Idaho City.
A Statement from Sierra's Family:
"Sierra was a happy and cheerful young lady. She had a 4.0 GPA her entire senior year and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.82 throughout high school. She scored 1800 on the SAT. She sought out the Honors College at Boise State University and was accepted into the program. She applied for numerous scholarships and was awarded enough scholarship money, based on merit not financial need, that we only had to come up with approximately $500 for her tuition. She had joined the Creative Writing Club and the Beekeepers Club at BSU. Every indication was that she was thoroughly enjoying the start to her freshman year at BSU. When her mother last spoke to her Sierra was happy and in good spirits, there was not the slightest sign of any trouble whatsoever. Sierra was very talented individual and had so much to offer the world in her future years.
"We want to thank all of the people who helped look for Sierra and for the countless hours that they put into it. We want to thank the law enforcement community and especially the Boise Police Department. There were many, many officers and detectives working very hard on Sierra's case, most of which occurs out of sight and cannot be known while the investigation is ongoing. We hope and pray that the law enforcement community will be able to charge, prosecute and successfully convict the perpetrator or perpetrators who are responsible for this crime and bring them to justice.
Sincerely, Bart and Mary Helen Green"
Please feel free to donate in order to support funeral costs and other arrangements. Any money collected will be given directly to the Bush/Green family.
Once those costs are covered, the family has requested that additional donations be directed to the Idaho Humane Society, where Sierra volunteered, or to King Of Glory Lutheran Church Mission Endowment Fund where the money is invested in perpetuity and income therefrom is donated to worthy causes such as Luther Heights Bible Camp the Interfaith Sanctuary and Salvation Army.
"The GoFundMe Page is now closed. It raised over $10,000 which covered the cost of Sierra's casket and burial. We appreciate everyone's generosity, kind thoughts and prayers. We are eternally grateful. Let's respond to this tragedy with grace and honor her memory in the best way that we can. She is another angel for us and she now flies with butterflies."
It's abundantly clear that Sierra, or Simon if you prefer, was an incredible individual.

I have no money to offer and for that I'm so sorry. What I do have is 5 children whom I sat down and told the story of Sierra/Simon. I do everything I can to teach my children to remain blind in terms of people and to love and embrace EVERYONE. I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. With love, Jessie & family
