Save The Leaf is an organization started up immediately after the FDA announced that they will be placing strict regulations on the cigar industry. We our organizing a Capitol Herf August 8th, 2016 in Washington, DC. In order to pull this off, we will need funding to help promote this event in such a small amount of time. This event is free to the public and because of that we need to raise some funds. If you cannot make the event but are able to donate even $1 - $20, it will help pull off this Historic Demonstration.
These regulations will undoubtedly place many brands in jeopardy of going out of business through the daunting paperwork, pre-marketing submission requirements and user's fees requirements. For the retailer, the regulations will hinder the way they do business and require them to adhere to strict laws governing who they sell to, as well as training for their staff. They will also be required to have posters placed in their shops to warn the consumer of the dangers of smoking.
The FDA's broad stroke has ignited a fire in the cigar industry and we have come together to try our best to Save The Leaf that we love. If you would like to get involved, please have a look at www.SaveTheLeaf.org.
As Consumers, any donations at all from even $1 - $20 donated to savetheleaf.org to you, may not seem like much help at all, but EVERY little bit adds up together. If you cannot donate monetarily, there are still ways you can help for FREE by:
•Changing your social media accounts profile photos to the Save The Leaf Logo to help spread the word and inform others that you not only support the cause, and this organization, but helps as well by spreading the word so others can know what the FDA is attempting to do and what impact this will make on all cigar lovers everywhere.
•You can also go to the CRA’s website to find out how to contact your local politicians and let them know your outrage and disapproval of the FDA’s overreach at cigarrights.org.
•You can Sign the White House petition to show your support in not attempting the FDA to finalize the choice of “option 1” in regulating the Premium Cigar Industry at www.whitehouse.gov. <https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/do-not-enact-fdas-option-1-final-rule-premium-handmade-cigars>
•And most importantly, while you're talking cigars, online, in shops, commenting on blogs, reviews and news sites, etc., you can spread the word about Save The Leaf. Talk about the FDA, how it will impact the industry, manufacturers, retailers, you, your friends, and how you can help to stop these regulations.
