Ruth is homeless from NC hurricanes

I'm posting this for a lifelong friend, someone who knows Ruth Lamb personally.
Two hurricanes hit North Carolina. Ruth, a good friend to so many over her long life, is holding on by her fingernails right now. She's not likely to get FEMA help since she's in central North Carolina's foothills, and not on the shore where the hurricane-force winds were. She lost everything to a tornado and not one other person in her area lost their home.
Her health was in tatters even before her home was destroyed and her late husband's treasures looted, but now my family worries she won't make it without your help
Hurricane Florence brought the creek near her home right up to her neighbor's deck with a 30 ft. flash flood. A neighbor's cars were pushed into the creek, which would eventually affect all her neighborhood's water since they get it from wells and the area was too muddy from the hurricane to pull them out, but nothing else bad happened to her home with Florence.
Hurricane Michael came, and our family's mother warned Ruth about tornados. Her fears were correct: a tornado hit two 100-foot oaks next to Ruth's The falling trunk and branches both hit her roof and tore it off, blowing out her doors and tearing off siding in the process. With the storm, the entire structure was inundated with rain water. It's totaled.
As a widow of 9 years, she had put her late husband's treasured collections of rare records and coins in a safe place with her jewelry, but another shock was in store for her: even though her location is remote, looters came. They took everything of value. Even crueler, she was forced to plan to sell those sentimental items, just to pay for necessities, but now she doesn't even have that money while she still has the loss!
Due to her medical bills and to pay for the materials her son has been using to fix up her trailer home, she still has had to work when she
should be focused on her elder years (she's 69, will be 70 in Dec.) and incredibly fragile health. She's suffered such loss over the years: her
husband to cancer, one of her sons drowned when young, and her great grandchild was murdered. She hasn't sounded so devastated since then, until today.
Everything she's worked so hard TO *EARN* and saved to improve her home is gone. Her son, who has done his best for years to help her, is devastated and heartsick that all his help for his mother is gone and they have no money to get her a new home.
Ruth cannot stay with her son, as his home is overcrowded. She is currently staying with her man-friend, but his place is 1 ½ hrs. drive one-way to where she works, and that's too much in gas money. No one in her family is able to help her financially. Even though she owns the land, she couldn't get a loan, for even though she works, she only makes enough to pay her bills and save a little at a time.all which was spent on fixing up her home and buying things like the new heater she had to buy last winter. She wouldn't be able to repay a loan. It wasn't insured, as the insurance company stated that they don't insure nor pay anything on trailers over 20 yrs. old. (Of course, the insurance company didn't tell her that until she tried to file a claim a few years after 20 yrs. a little while back...)
Ruth needs her destroyed trailer hauled off and properly disposed of. Then she needs a used/new trailer brought in, plus replacement of necessary ruined belongings Mobile home sellers in the area have posted that they have NO used homes available, which makes total sense, for if the used homes they had weren't destroyed, then they've probably been quickly bought up, for housing of all who lost homes, first with Florence, and then with Michael.
So, she may need to get a new mobile home to put on her property. We're hoping to raise $100,000, hoping that would cover all the costs. Ruth will be careful to use any money given to her wisely, and will be most grateful. She's still in shock.
She has cared and prayed for so many. Please help her build a new home and buy what medicine and medical care she has not been able to afford.
She won't be able to retire, but at least you can help her live again with dignity.
