Russell's Study Abroad in Spain

As some of you may know I was recently accepted into the UGA en España Study Abroad Program. The program is this summer, starting on May 8th and ending on June 7th. I will have the opportunity to travel and study in the country of Spain, living in it's two premiere cities: Madrid and Barcelona. Over the course of the program I will be living with families from various regions and immersing myself in the Spanish culture.

Over the past 8 years I have studied the Spanish language in the classroom. However, unlike other subjects, there are many aspects of this language and culture that cannot be taught within the walls of the classroom. Some things have to be experienced firsthand. The class I will be taking is an upper level Spanish course that will be applied to my Spanish minor. Being able to attend this program will bring me one step closer to becoming fluent in Spanish, a lifelong goal of mine that will help me immensely in my future.

I have dreamed of studying in Spain and am so excited to be awarded this amazing opportunity. In an effort to reduce the financial costs of this program I am working, applying for scholarships, and seeking the support of friends and family. I would appreciate *ANY support or donations on this endeavor! No amount is too small, and every contribution will go towards program fees and travel expenses.
