Run for the gold 2017

Last year I qualified for the National Senior Games (Senior Olympics) in both the 5K and 10K road race events. I've always dreamed of competing at the national level and now is my chance. I think this is a once in a lifetime opportunity as these are not my distances of choice. I prefer the ultra marathon distances of 50 - 100 miles, so I want to take advantage while I can. I'm not sure I'll ever train to run the 5K and 10K distances competitively again after these games. The only glitch is that the games are in Birmingham, AL this coming June, which will involve travel expenses that I don't have. That's why I'm asking for just a little help from my friends. I set my fundraiser goal to cover my travel expenses, hotel room, rental car, entry fees, the hiring of a coach to help me be as competitive as possible, the purchase of a uniform so I may represent the state of Maryland appropriately and incidentals. Any help, no matter how great or small, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your support.
