Hi everyone! We are getting close to the time when Rosalyn heads out to the Philippines to officially fulfill her requirements for the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation - governing body for Olympic Ice Hockey) and the Women's National Team for Team Pilipinas.

Rosalyn begins fulfilling her requirements March 1st, 2018. She will be residing in the Philippines for the next year and a half.

This journey started earlier last year and it has been a great honor an blessing to watch her dreams fulfilled. She has worked hard and continues to work hard, making many sacrifices in order to achieve her goal of representing our home country in the Olympics one day.

This is historical for not only her, but for ice hockey in the Philippines as well. This past year, marked the first year that the Philippines was recognized by the IIHF. Therefore, qualifying them to work towards playing in the Olympics in the years to come. Both the Men's and Women's team have shown much grit and potential. Their skill level, talent and heart have provided much success and we are very excited to be a part of the growth and history for what is in store for the future.

Last May 2017, Rosalyn was the starting goalie at the Hong Kong Hockey 5s Tournament. The Women's Team Islanders Pilipinas swept the tournament winning Gold with Rosalyn receiving the Most Valuable Player award for the tournament. Thank you to everyone who helped her with this first step. Please click to see the updates from Hong Kong.

The Women's Team is slotted to play in the upcoming Women's Challenge Cup of Asia, an IIHF sanctioned tournament, this upcoming March 2018 in Kuala Lumpur.

The Men's Team Pilipinas, recently won Gold at the 2017 SEA Games! This momentous fete has definitely put Team Pilipinas on the map as a contender and force to be reckon with for years to come.

We are asking that you please continue to support Rosalyn as she moves onto the next level of her journey. This is an opportunity that does not come often and one that should not be taken lightly. One that is a blessing. It is a huge honor to represent your home country and to be part of history, not only for the Philippines, but for Women's Hockey and the sport itself.

To keep up with how she is doing we will be sure to post here and on her Instagram page:

Thank you for taking the time to read, support and share her story.

As a Fil-Am coming from outside of the Philippines, the term "Import" has been used several times. This is a misconception outside of the athletic world. Those she is joining, as a young athlete, all expenses are handled by the family until she reaches a certain level. If you have watched a lot of the stories of the latest Winter Olympic Athletes, you will see that attaining once's dreams comes a long with with many sacrifices by the family and the athlete.

This is why we fundraise, to help alleviate some of the costs in the break down below:

Phase 1: by Feb 20th : $3500 Travel, Fees, Training

Phase 2: by July 2018: $3000 Lodging, Transportation, Fees, Training for Future Tournaments and Games

Phase 3: September On going for the year: $4000 for Travel for Training and Fees

We also have two fundraising opportunities for you to see Rosalyn and wish you her well. We will be selling Cakies and receiving donations. (See posts attached)

Thank you so much to The FilAm for featuring Rosalyn's story and for your love and support.

This is very exciting for Rosalyn and definitely a dream that she has worked hard for and made the choice to continue to follow throughout her years as a hockey player and female goaltender.

Though she is the first to move over from the US. She is still a young athlete and has made the choice to follow her dreams by moving to the Philippines, all expenses and funding is raised by our family solely. There is no sponsorship or compensation from the federation or Filipino government. This is highly common among all within the athletic world and those working towards becoming a professional and/or reaching an Olympic status. All sacrifices and funding are made by the families to reach the dream and the honor of representing your country one day.

Your help in fundraising, donations, and/or sharing her story would be greatly appreciated!!
