"Mommy, my tummy hurts!" As parents, our little ones use this against us for many reasons. Refusal to eat veggies, not ready to go night night, or just to get some much needed attention. Our oldest son, Roman, said this phrase one too many times. On the lower right side of his abdomen was a small lump. A lump....that caused so many lumps and knots in our throats and stomachs on the evening on March 8, 2014.

"Roman has stage 3 kidney cancer, known as Wilm's Tumor. We will take good care of him with chemotherapy drugs in hopes of defeating the tumor."

Sounds hopeful, right? We couldn't have felt more hopeless. No parent wants to hear that their child has cancer at age 3. Roman's treatment was 6 months of out-patient chemo I'm addition to a 7 hour right kidney removal. (Longest 7 hours of our lives)! After 9 months of practically living at the hospital, we were informed that the cancer had spread and was now stage 4. 

As as we approach the hopeful end of his treatments, we need a little help paying off thousands of dollars worth of medical bills that have accumulated over the past year.  I had quit my full-time job to take care of Roman and his brother Braylon. My husband is our rock and has been a blessing and the biggest supporter next to God. With only one income, things are tight at the moment. Anything would be greatly appreciated towards Roman's expenses. We thank God everyday that our son is alive and thriving!
