Hi, my name is Teshia Robinson and this is my story of how inline skating went from being a childhood past-time to an exciting opportunity to open a sporting goods store in one of the fastest growing cities in the US. RollATL is more than just a business endeavor. It is a passion of mine that I am privileged to share with you. My goal is to open a shop in midtown Atlanta that welcomes individuals from all walks of life and promotes collaboration rather than competition between the various urban action sports showcased in this video. With your help, I want to support athletes in the minority who love their sport, yet struggle to establish themselves in the existing culture and community surrounding it.

From the beginning, this has been a group effort. So many people have been instrumental in making this happen, volunteering time and offering invaluable insights. RollATL would not have become what it is without this collaboration. I hope to continue this collaborative effort, by giving the various sports communities and sport enthusiasts, family and friends a chance to be involved in this exciting new venture.

We are planning a RollATL opening for next month! I am already completely blown away by how far this project has come. I officially decided to move forward with the store in January and within 3 months we were able to accomplish enough to be planning to open doors in May .

The goal is to raise enough money to help cover the store’s fixed costs for the first 6 months of business--including rent, utilities, and start up costs for store fixtures. This way, a high interest business loan can be avoided so that profits made in those first 6 months can go towards expanding product offerings for customers and promoting the sports we love through advertising, workshops, and sponsorships.

Moving Forward

Your donation is more than just start-up funding. It is a statement of support. Even if you are only offering a few dollars, the gesture is greatly appreciated and I know will count significantly in the long-run.

This is also more than just a fundraiser. It is the official announcement about the RollATL store. By sharing this video, you are raising awareness not just about the story behind the store, but also about the fantastic sports and amazing athletes the store is promoting!

From getting the shop space I wanted a year ago when this was all just an idea to finding people willing to do edits literally the weekend we were shooting, I am amazed by the support that has been shown and the results so far. Stoked to see what happens next and beyond grateful for everyone’s generosity in making this dream happen!

You did it! In a little over 2 weeks we have raised almost $2,000. This was enough to help us pay for the rest of our store fixtures and cash register up front!

This also enabled us to pay for our business insurance up front--a cost savings of almost $150 which we invested in printing stickers to promote the store.

Yesterday we handed out about a dozen stickers at the local skatepark. One kid said he had been looking for a store like ours for months and couldn't believe we were opening one. He was super stoked to hear about RollATL!

Thanks again to each of you who played a part in making this happen.

Our next goal is to partner with some local certified skaters to bring skate lessons to schools' PE and after-school programs. The store would like to help with sponsorship. Can we raise another $2,000 to make this happen?

We are excited to announce we have a store space for RollATL! We are not disclosing the exact location just yet, but we'll give you a hint--it's near the Beltline walking path. The store fixtures we've acquired are moved in and we are getting things set up for products.

We would not have been able to secure a location as quickly without your generous donations! We have the first month free of rent to get things set up and our next month of rent and business insurance is already covered.

We just need a few hundred more dollars to get the rest of our store fixtures and cash register paid for up front and we will be ready to roll! Unlocking the future one step at a time!

Totally blown away by all the support! Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared this webpage. We are planning to launch the official website soon!

Also can anyone guess what these are? Just a few more supplies and we'll have all the store fixtures we need to get the shop up and running!
