I got a call on Wednesday saying that a super friendly, elderly Shiba Mix was in the SJACC (our local animal shelter). Her owners of the last 12 years had been convinced by their son to turn the dog in so she could be put to to sleep.
Understand, they had apparently never taken the dog to the Vet. Never had her growing tumor looked at. Never had her eyes checked, or wondered why she might be so thin, and thirsty.
So, why are we so focused on saving Reina? Well, she is not in the best physical shape - she is blind, severely underweight, dehydrated, and has a tumor on her abdomen. -
But despite all of that, she has a heart of gold - she LOVES human attention and gives a happy body wag whenever she is petted. More importantly, Reina is not done living! We want to help her live out her golden years in comfort and with compassion. We want to get her much needed medical care which will include diagnostics and tumor removal.
Please help us help Reina live her dream of a happy life and consider donating to help cover her medical costs.
A great foster has stepped up to help her, and we need to help that foster get Reina a chance for some additional happy time.
Join Team Reina by giving a small donation to make sure her remaining years are happy ones!
