Riffipedia & StoneRPG

I'm Tom (otherwise known as Riffipedia Guy or Gedmundo). I'm a big time stoner rock/doom fan who, despite having no musical talent whatsoever, wants to contribute to the stoner rock scene.

I'm spending my time building Riffipedia - a wikia.com site devoted to every aspect of the stoner rock/doom/sludge/psych music scene, The aim of this is to have a platform to share information about and promote the scene that anybody can contribute to. Think wikipedia, but for the stoner rock music scene.

I'm also building a retro style role-playing game (RPG) based on the stoner rock scene called StoneRPG. This is going to be full of references to the music, musicians appearing as characters in the story and, most importantly, a soundtrack full of 8-bit covers of great songs from the genre. The game will be fairly vast, with dozens of levels and songs. (So far, it's looking like the main world map, 50+individual levels and interiors in each of these). It should be pretty funny too and certainly wont take itself too seriously. This game is in the very early stages, but I will share more as time goes on. Also, StoneRPG will be made and released, free to play. I don't want people to have to pay to play. I want it to be optional. If you play and enjoy, sure, donate if you want, but you'll have the game, once it's made, regardless.

I am also one of three hosts of The Desertfest Podcast, which is a weekly audio podcast where we play music, host interviews and spread information about the scene.

All three of these projects are going to continue regardless of anything. Riffipedia will always continue to be a free place that anybody can contribute to and I'll always be around to help build the website up, until and beyond the point that the site is full to the brim with articles for all appropriate bands, artists, albums, websites, festivals... of the scene.

The reason I'm asking for donations is because these projects take up a lot of my time and I'm currently dirt poor (unemployment and overdraft are a deadly combination). Making a little money from optional donations would really help me out while I'm stuck in a rut and will mean I can go on building these projects a little more comfortably. If I'm not so skint all the time, Riffipedia, StoneRPG and The Desertfest Podcast will be even more the focus of my energies, meaning all will be better for it.

Any help you give me will be greatly appreciated. Seriously, you have no idea how much of a help even a small amount would be. I don't expect even a penny or a cent, but if you help me out, I will be eternally thankful. I'll even give you a credit in the game if you donate before completion as it's the least I can do.

I know there are more worthy projects in need of help, and I would never suggest a donation to me over something like a charity working on the cure for cancer. But if you can help out and want to, please feel free.
