On Sat Oct 12, Rickey Hayes was involved in a devestating hit and run car accident that resulted in 2 spinal fractures, a punctured lung and bleeding on the brain. He remained in ICU on a ventilator for 18 days. He fought very hard to get back to his wife of 20 years, Nicole and their 12 year old son, Micah but his injuries and the complications that developed were too great to overcome. On Wednesday October 30th, Rick gained his wings and rose to be with Jesus. He passed peacefully with Nicole by his side. Being of generous spirit, Rick chose to be an organ donor. He will live on in the 2 others that he has saved.
