This magnifiicant man has led a hard but rewarding life. Like everyone else, he too fell on hard times and seems to have found him yet again. On November 15th he told me the doctors had found a tumor behind his heart and wanted to do surgery on him the following Wednesday. He was reluctant at first but said ok. The surgery went well at least for the first couple of days. His kidneys completely shut down and he was placed back on the ventilator since he wasn't able to breath easily on his own. The respiratory staff and the nurses in the cardiac ICU continued to try to wean him from the vent. Once he was looking to make some headway, he was found to have a what was termed as a small intercranial hemmorhage (brain bleed)and was placed back on the vent and also placed in a chemical-induced coma to help control any of the swelling or intercranial pressure. so that is where he is sitting right now.
This account will help Rex with the recovery since he doesn't have any income and his medical bills are going through the roof. This account will also be used for if God is to call the man home for his hard work to help enrich the knowledge of those who trusted him as friend, EMT, Emergency Manager and the list goes on and on. This account will be ongoing at least until Rex is out of the hospital. As friends and colleagues of Rex, would you help a brother in need? Please give what you can, I know there are many who Rex has touched in the community whether it be part of the many Cert teams he was with, MRCKC, OCOM along with Emergency Management Specialists his pride and joy. Please also keep Rex in your prayers for a speedy recovery.
