Please help me reunite 3 year old Patricia with her mother.
Patricia's mother cleans houses 7 days a week. She earns £1,000 per month. After her rent for a single bed in a small room, travel costs and food, she sends £400 to own mother, Patricia's grandmother, back home to look after her daughter.
Patricia's mum, Juliana, is honest, hard working, kind and polite and it is breaking my heart to see her hold my baby each week knowing that her own child lives far away in another country and that Juliana wants nothing more than to have her daughter closeby.
Please help raise a start-up package to help Juliana bring her 3 year old baby girl to the UK as soon as possible.
Money will go towards:
Flights and relocation costs
Finding a flat to rent, fees, etc
3 month's rent
3 month's food and utility costs
Education materials and English books for Patricia
Plus funds to cover Juliana so that she can help little Patricia acclimatise to the UK and look for work other than cleaning houses for low wages. Juliana would love to work in a school or nursery.
This is an issue close to my heart because my own mother is not from the UK. She came to London with my brother when he was 3 years old - Patricia's age.
With more help from people with cultural capital and a bit of know-how, my mother could have done so much more with her youth. She did not go to university until her 40s. My mother now has three degrees and retired teaching sociology and psychology at a community college.
For 20 years, my mum worked hard and raised us children and kept a roof over our heads and food on the table doing anything from cleaning to paper rounds.
I believe in hard work but I also strongly believe in fulfilling potential.
When I see Juliana, who speaks English, French, Italian and Romanian, clean my house, all I can think about is that another week has gone by without her having her young daughter by her side.
And that she is too lovely and talented to spend her time on Earth alone cleaning houses and then sleeping in a small bed in single room.
She dreams of making a better life for her child and sends money home each month but she cannot save on top of paying for the costs of Patricia and her own mother. She is stuck in a poverty trap. And we can help dig her out of it.
Patricia is 3 and needs to know English if she is to go to school here in two years' time. Little Patricia deserves to be by her mother's side, in her mother's arms, able to kiss her mother and cuddle her and taste her cooking. And together, we can help make this happen.
Juliana works hard. She will keep herself afloat. She just needs a lifeline from people who have the means to help. A one-off lump sum that is too difficult for people on low wages to amass.
Please help me help her. She is the nicest person. She is shy and lacks the confidence after applying for so many jobs and only getting cleaning work.
Together we can help 3 year old Patricia be with her hardworking mother together as a family.

p.s. Romania is part of the European Union and there is NO legal issue with Romanians coming to the UK to work. They cannot arrive and immediately claim benefits. Any Romanians must come and work and pay their way.
