With great sadness, we say goodbye to Remy Kallie Jeanne McCarthy. For the 14 years she was with us, she filled our lives with so much joy. Please consider donating to this fund in lieu of flowers. The family has decided the funds will be donated to North Shore Youth Council, to estabilsh new youth programs, especially at SWR.
Please help support Remy's Fund. Kallie devoted her life to helping her friends and peers who were struggling. RemysFund.com
She carried a heavy burden, but we can ensure her legacy continues to live on by working to provide better support in the school system for struggling kids. No one should grow up feeling ashamed, alone, scared or misunderstood. If we work to prevent this, Kallie will continue to impact countless lives in the future.
<3 Don't carry the world upon your shoulders... <3
<3 ...So let it out and let it in, hey Kal, begin <3
Thank you so much for your contribution to the Remy Fund. Due to our strong working relationship and overlapping mission the Remy Fund now operates under the umbrella of the North Shore Youth Council, a non-profit organization. The Remy Fund works to collaborate with others to help meet the growing needs of our youth. Our mission is to help develop alternative learning opportunities through creative outlets such as music, art, peer connection, mentoring, internships, and "real world" problem solving.
NSYC has been the perfect partner as they have the staff in place to follow through on collaborating ideas. Thus far the Remy Fund is grateful for the generous donation of 10 ukuleles from the Kala Brand Music Company. We are also grateful for the discounted pricing provided by Sound Beach Music allowing us to purchase an additional 12 ukuleles and 2 bongos. In February 2017 the NSYC ukulele club was formed, employing 2 SWR students to provide free peer to peer instruction. The ukulele club had such a warm response, the Remy Fund has now benefited a total of 250 youth through the NSYC summer, fall and open mic programs.
As we approach the 1 year anniversary of the Remy Fund we are REMinded to celebrate the past, present and future youth in our lives and in our communities. We are in awe of the sometimes reserved talent of our youth and look forward to the many opportunities we will have to connect our shared passions as we unleash our creative spirit.
We invite you to join us for evening of songs, poetry, spoken word and stand up
at the NSYC:"Remy Fund Teen Open Mic"
and participate in our Community Art Project.
Come in costume! Rock Star costumes encouraged!
Free pizza and refreshments will be provided.
Thank you again to all those who donated.
Know your donations will help fund youth programs as we continue to seek collaboration in our communities, our schools and our places of work. We are very excited to see what programs will unfold as our youth are empowered by the participation in this process.
ALL WE NEED IS LOVE.
With gratitude from,
The Remy Fund Committee
Hi Family, Here is a very special prayer and resource I found at: http://nhrtl.org/lifeline-against-suicide-team/ It is my hope that this prayer is a great comfort to you, as we pray for the repose of Kallie. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. Love and prayers, Jeanne Marie and Paul
