For those of you who don't know, #SweetBabyRae made her premie debut into the world at 6:09am on 8/28/17, with Kaitee's pregnancy lasting only a mere 35 weeks and 3 days. She wanted to make sure everyone knew that she was going to be special, and special she is!

At 33 weeks and some change, Kaitee was admitted with high blood pressure and tested positive for preterm labor. She and Jeff knew the goal was to keep her BP down so Raegan could do some more baking. Unfortunately, during her 34 week ultrasound, it was discovered that Kaitee had excess amniotic fluid building up (known as polyhydramnios) and that Baby Raegan had a distended belly, likely caused by a bowel obstruction. However, the goal hadn't changed: keep Kaitee's blood pressure down, monitor Sweet Baby Rae's heartbeat and stats, and keep that bun in the oven!

On 8/27, Kaitee and Jeff had a discussion with Dr. Crisp to schedule a c-section at week 36, buying Baby Rae some time to develop, but also relieving Kaitee's discomfort, as the amniotic fluid just kept building up. Dr. Crisp however was pleased with Kaitee's BP and her progress so far, and he wanted to aim for week 37.

As you all know, Raegan Renee had other plans. With Kaitee's blood pressure not decreasing and her blood work coming back somewhat worrisome, Dr. Crisp changed his mind and made the professional decision that it was no longer beneficial to Mom or Baby to continue the pregnancy. And so, we were all blessed with Raegan Renee Rehkopf!

And now, the reason I am telling you all this...if you know Kaitee & Jeff, you know they are the last people to ask for help. However, with their permission, I am asking for them. Raegan was transferred to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara just hours after her birth. Jeffrey was able to accompany Sweet Baby Rae, while Kaitee has to stay at Marian to recover.

Raegan will have to undergo surgery later this week, and then have a week or more recovery time. Santa Barbara is 70 miles from Jeff and Kaitee's home and gas money, lodging to be close to their baby girl, and meals away from home are just some expenses that they will have to endure to provide a comforting environment for Baby Rae.

I would like to ask that anyone who could spare some change, do so with a loving heart. Even the littlest bit can help make a difference in this young family's life as they are adjusting to new life as parents.

"Though she be but little, she is fierce!"

Thank you all SO SO MUCH!!! I had originally set a goal of $1500, and within hours that was blown out of the water. So I upped it to $2500, and again we surpassed that; then $3500, and in less than 48 hours since the campaign started, we had hit that! After discussing with the family, we decided $4000 was going to be the max we would try for, and we did it!! Thank you guys so so much!

The Rehkopfs (and myself) cannot express how much this truly means! You are all rockstars and we love and thank each and every one of you! #RallyForRaegan

Alright guys, you are incredible!! You surpassed all three goals I had set!

#SweetBabyRae is currently in surgery so send prayers and positive thinking towards the Rehkopf Family!

Please feel free to continue to share this campaign page and donate, but this post was meant to THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!

Kaitee & Jeff are obviously pre-occupied with caring for their little bundle of joy, but they are truly grateful and completely blown away by the outpouring of love and support and prayers as we all #RallyForRaegan !!

You guys are all rockstars!!

OH. MY. GOSH. All of you guys are incredible! In less than 12 hours, you all blew my original goal out of the water! Let's keep it going!

After doing some research, if Kaitee & Jeff can't get into the cottages near the hospital, they will have to get a hotel...in the heart of Santa Barbara...and we all know how expensive that can get!

If you don't feel you can donate, that is quite all right!! #SweetBabyRae could use prayers, and so can her parents! For the prayer warriors out there, things to pray for:
•the surgeons: clear eyes and steady hands
•the baby of course! That the obstruction isn't as extensive as the surgeons may think
•the parents: peace, safety traveling to and from, teamwork (that these two amazing people keep loving and supporting each other through this hard time, that their bond and marriage grows stronger in this trial, etc)
•the extended family: that they will feel peace and calm and be able to be the support system they need to be
•recovery: for Kaitee's c-section so that she can finally go down and hold her baby girl and for Raegan, that recovery will be quick and smooth

Again, thank you ALL so much for your willingness to #RallyForRaegan!! If you have any questions of other ways you can help, or you're looking for updates while Kaitee and Jeff can't get to their phones, feel free to contact myself (805-478-6464) or Trish! We love you all!!
