Pr. Rupert Gymnastics Improvement
Donation protected
The Prince Rupert Gymnastics Association was founded in 2014 as a Non-Profit Society that is dedicated to building of the sport of gymnastics in the city of Prince Rupert. The association was started by 5 parents who felt there was a desperate need and wanted to see gymnastics introduced to the community for our children.
The initial 2 years has seen PRGA make huge strides forward from our humble beginnings and we have started to become a significant member of the community.
Our next 2 year plan is to continue to grow our club by the hiring of a full-time coach, offering additional classes and acquiring more equipment. Moving forward, we would like to expand our equipment so we are able to offer a variety of apparatus’ for our recreational athletes as well acquire competitive level equipment.
The timeline for our project is immediate. Obtaining this equipment in a timely manner will allow us to grow the club at an even faster rate than we currently are already achieving. Once the equipment is acquired it will be installed and put into use as quickly as logistically possible. Due to the growth and excitement regarding the club we have attracted a high level coach who has years of experience and is ready to grow the club to the next level and we are in need of this equipment to do so.
The success of the club is not going to be measured strictly by the size of its membership but more so by it's ever increasing positive impact on our community. For example, we have already been approached by a person who was looking to relocate to Prince Rupert for employment in a very specialized line of work. His decision to move here, hinged on whether or not our community had a gymnastics club for his daughter who is currently involved in competitive gymnastics. It was such a great feeling to tell him that we did have a club and that we were growing quickly and we hoped to become a competitive club in the near future and that person had now relocated to our City and his family will soon be joining him.
The moneys raised through our funding will be generously matched by the Prince Rupert Port Authority legacy fund. These contributions will go such a long way into helping getting our kids involved and active with such great program.
The kids, the club and all the volunteers are so thankful to all who have contributed to getting to where we are today and look forward to many more years with the club.
