Ariella's Polar Bear Challenge!

Greetings!

My daughter Ariella has chosen to support and raise money for Polar Bears International as a project connected to her upcoming Bat Mitzvah in November.  (Hey, save the date!)

This is an amazing organization whose mission is to conserve polar bears and the sea ice they depend on. Through education, media, scientific research and advocacy, they are global leaders in educating about polar bear conservation and providing mentorship for the actions that will help ensure their survival.

We have been really inspired by the work of this organization which is a leading voice on how climate warming impacts  polar bears and their Arctic home.  These deeply threatened, majestic creatures are our current- day "canaries in the coalmine".   Ariella, the animal-lover she is,  is heartbroken about their predicament and its my hope that her personal grief can help mobilize all of us to act and consider reducing our C02 impact on the earth.

In support of Ariella and radical self-care, I am going on brisk, daily walks with our awesome dog-buddy, Bohdi, for at a total of an hour or more.  (I broke into this "habit" during July).   I am beginning for real, on July 26th. My goal is to walk 200 miles by November 1st.

Therein lies the Polar Bear Challenge!  I invite you to "sponsor" me as I walk these miles towards health and strength,  while also raising money on behalf of Ariella.

Let's do this! For the earth, the polar bears and Ariella!  I will post updates about our progress.

Here are some examples of sponsorships:
.10 a mile   ($20.00)
.15 a mile   ($30.00)
.25 a mile   ($50.00)
.50 a mile   ($100.00)
or... just make a donation of your choice in Ariella's honor!

P.S. Ariella is also working with a remarkable local non-profit, PawsCo dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation through spay/neuter, foster/adoptions and food drives that aim to keep pets with their families by providing food through local area food banks.
She is helping to collect dry and canned animal food -- so contact us here, if you have a donation! http://pawsco.org/about/http://pawsco.org/about/
