Poke Glo for Pokemon GO Safety
not just for pokemon go player now for homeless for free and for kids who walk in dark neighborhoods for free as well
this is for my poke glo business that I started. I want every pokemon go player to have one so that they can be safe at night. i do not want anyone to ever get hurt playing pokemen go.
From Athen's mom:
My husband and I were talking about Pokemon Go safety concerns and how it would be scary to think of kids walking around at dusk. My son, Athen, being the bright little nugget that he is, suggest light-up pins. We tried to help him find things that light-up but ultimately found that reflective materials will work just as well. He hasn't been able to go out and play much because of a nasty injury so he spent the whole weekend making Poke Glo Safety Buttons. Other than bank-rolling the initial supplies and doing this write-up, my son has done this entirely on his own. Above is his original writing for the GoFundMe post. He is asking for $500 to make 500 buttons in different sizes. He hopes to sell them cheaply so that everyone can afford one. He does realize that he will have to change the design from the copyrighted PokeBall but he already has a lot of neat ideas.
His DREAM would be that we raise enough to get the Poke Glo wrist bands made since he wants an "actual" one of those, not his "prototype."
Thank you to anyone who participates.
From Athen's Mom: He is very excited but doesn't have a grasp yet on what GoFundMe is. His excitement is too fun to watch.
Have you considered making an etsy shop and posting some in small batches? You have a lot of fans, and a lot of people on etsy sell pokemon and pokeball things without any legal trouble~ Heck, I'd love to order one, if you do. I really like ghost types, but they only come out at night.
Hey Casey Gagnon, it's a good idea from a little kid. Why don't you chill out on hating on a 7 year old? Donating to his project is not "siphoning away donations" from anyone. Donations are not a zero sum game. Maybe if you weren't bashing 7 year olds, people would be more inclined to help you out. You don't have to tear down others to build yourself up. You gonna stop every kid in America that has a lemonade stand because it "takes away from more worth while causes"? The more you post, the more money I want to give this kid, and I don't even care about Pokémon Go.
Ignore the Debby Downers leaving terrible comments. This site is about raising funds, just because no one wants to fund them doesn't mean they should go posting bad thing about others. That being said. I believe this is a great idea! It will stop people from getting hurt. Although I wish I could donate, I am glad that you have met your goal, and in the future would love to potentially buy one or two from you! Good luck!

" I just read the TOS and it does not say that the site has to be used to raise emergency funding. I copied the bit above pretty much for the last paragraph. Good on you Athen, and good luck!
This is an awesome display of kindness AND entrepreneurship! Athen is an inspiration. Would he be interested in Poke Glo being featured in The Corner magazine? We're a nonprofit mag dedicated to inspiring young boys to become better men. This story caught my eye and I felt it would be a great article to inspire others and even gain some publicity for Poke Glo! With your permission, I would like to write an article about Athen's business. If you're interested, email me at simonbrooks15 @ gmail. Thanks, and best of luck to Athen!
To get around the copyright he could always make team themed ones. Just red with flames, blue with a snowflake, and yellow with a lightning bolt; and GO on it. Also if he's aiming to make wristbands eventually he could just make them red and white and have GO on them. I'd love to buy a couple. #TeamInstinct
Casey, if you go to the home page of gofundme and scroll to what you can use this site for it says the possibilities are endless!! Anyone is allowed to set up an account for absolutely anything. It is a FUNDraising site!! You are a very selfish person for posting such mean and negative things about a child who is wanting to keep people safe! Do not be envious because you're not receiving as much funds! Being cruel will get you no where!! Athen, you are a very smart and sweet little boy! Our world needs more souls like you! Keep doing what you're doing bud!!!
