Computer for Boy w/ Arthrogryposis
Donation protected
My name is Gary and I wanted to introduce you to my friend Phil. I met Phil while I was volunteering with the Big Dreams Childrens Foundation. Phil is a 14 year old boy with arthrogryposis, a condition with congenital joint contractures. Due to his condition, Phil was given up by his mother right after birth and is living at the orphanage in Dmitrov, Russia. As I got to know him, I quickly discovered he is much more than his condition or his disability. He is quick witted, hilarious, caring, and wants the most out of life – like all of us.
Phil has great interested in the Computer Information Technology field but he does not have a computer of his own. Currently the only computer available to him is shared between all the children in the orphanage. With only limited time daily, it restricts him from learning the skills sets will ultimately help him provide for himself in the future.
Phil, thanks to the Big Dream Childrens Foundation was able to visit the United States last fall. The Scottish Rite Hospital for Children donated a custom piece of equipment that will help him navigate any Computer.
Now with Phil being able to use a computer without his hands, we are looking to raise $2000 to purchase Phil powerful enough computer that will serve him well in the next four years and be flexible enough to be updated in the future.
He is an amazing kid that we can all help with in becoming self-sufficient citizen of the world by just helping him purchase is own first computer.
After the computer is purchased, we have lined various volunteer computer experts to continue with Phil’s education in the Computer Information Technology field. This gift and will allow Phil to leverage modern technology, social media, web advertising, to find his calling.
I just wanted to note that 100% of proceeds will utilize to help Philip.
Thank you to everyone who donates or shares this story. Help spread the word!
