Riding for Syria
My name is Olivier and I am currently trying to raise money for a cause close to my heart. During 2014, I spent much of the year in Jordan working with Syrian refugees organizing sports camps for girls between the ages of 4-16.
A year later, the situation in Syria has not improved. The refugee crisis in surrounding countries is only getting more desperate.
I want to do my part to help. I have decided to cycle for Syria. For every dollar donated, I will ride a KM. All proceedings will be donated to the Syria Fund, an American charity dedicated to supplying material goods and building classroom in Syrian refugee camps. It was a founded by a good friend, Lexi Shereshewsky, whom I met while studying at the American University in Cairo and the daughter of my parents' close friends. Here is the link to the charity. http://thesyriafund.org/
Many thanks! Whether it's $5. $50 or $500, every dollar will help.
I hope this message finds you well. Wow, it has been almost a year since I started working with the Syria Fund. First of all, I wanted to thank you for continued support. I m coming up on the completion of my kms. ACL injury sidelined me for a few months.
The charity has grown at level the founders did not expect. They have raised over $200,000. With these proceeds, they have been able to grow their operations in Azraq, Jordan. I will be sharing with you an official annual report by early October.
Again, I cannot thank you for supporting me. The challenge continues and I will not stop riding.
