Our Pailolo Channel Challenge
On September 17, 2016, twelve woman ranging in age from 18 to 50+ will set out to cross the 26 mile Pailolo channel, spanning from Maui to Moloka'i.
With determination, pure grit and your support, we will compete to complete this once in a lifetime feat!
Unlike the majority of the races this particular crew and the Marina Outrigger club participates in throughout the Southern California area, Pailolo provides a new set of exciting challenges for the team as far as navigating gusty winds and swells upwards of 6 feet. In order to complete this challenge there are physical and financial commitments required of the club and crew and we are currently seeking sponsorship support.
We have been training for this race since March on and off the water and eager to participate in this epic race renowned within the outrigger community.
Upwards of a 1000 participants from clubs as far away as Tahiti and Australia to New York and Arizona. From 25 Southern California clubs, some out of state clubs (Nevada, Arizona, NYC, Hawaii) and international clubs (Tahiti, Australia).
