Our American Voice Summit 2017

                    Our American Voice® [OAV] can be heard across Illinois
                           

Over 225 OAV students from 23 schools in urban and rural communities across Illinois have been invited to attend the 9th annual OAV Summit on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in Springfield.  The students will share their community projects with one another, meet their legislators and tour the capital.

Please consider supporting our OAV Students  and their Summit – no donation is too small.
                                                         

OAV students are becoming informed, capable, engaged citizens and contributing to their communities by:
·     Raised $20K to make their playground handicapped accessible   
·      Installing filters in all school water fountains 
·      Cleaning, and beautifying their community cemetery
·      Purchasing a handicap ramp for school library stage
·      Creating a Safety program for their school
·      Starting a recycling program in their community
·      Setting up a free library for students in lower grades
·      Implementing a tutoring program for students

The schools participating in the 2016-2017 OUR AMERICAN VOICE® program making a difference in their communities are:
Emerson, Hiawatha, Irving, Komensky, Pershing and Piper Elementary Schools, Freedom and Heritage Middle Schools in Berwyn;  St. Philip Neri and Robert Healy Elementary & Providence Englewood Charter in Chicago;  Clearview Elementary & Cristo Rey St. Martin  College Prep in Waukegan; Prairie Trail in Wadsworth; Hester Jr. High in Franklin Park; DuBois in Springfield, Riddle in Matoon; Oakwood Jr. High in Danville; Arcola Jr. High ; Lester in Downers Grove; Washington Jr. High in Rock Island , Spenser Crossing Intermediate School in New Lenox; and Littlejohn in Dekalb.


The students especially thank Edward and Chris Kazemek whose generous donation is helping launch the Our American Voice ® Summit campaign.
