Send Santino to the Olympics!

$1,110 of $3,000 goal

Raised by 11 people in 24 months

South Sudanese athlete Santino Kenyi represented the youngest country in our world in the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Since then South Sudan has fallen deeper into war. He has lost family members, and the turmoil has made it impossible for him find money to support his passion for running. He receives neither food, clothing or even a place of training, yet everyday he is on the streets of Juba. Running.

When finds funds he uses it to travel to compete, to stay in the running for his next goal: The 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

Thanks so support from this campaign he has been able to train in the safety of Iten Kenya with some of the worlds best runners. He recently won a bronze medal in the Uganda National Championships in 1500m and will compete for South Sudan in Nigeria at the Africa Senior Championships.

Now he is starting a new journey to a college in Kansas where he will study to become a nurse and train even harder to be competitive in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

$3000 will cover the transport, insurance, and other costs needed to help him travel to America and start up a new life.

I know Santino after working for years in South Sudan and having helped make a film about him. As his friend I will be responsible for receiving the funds in the US and transferring the money directly to him in South Sudan for his expenses and training costs.

Hello!
Santino and I have an exciting update! Santino was accepted to the Cloud community college in Kansas, USA. He has been training there for the last two months and studying hard. (He wants to become a doctor)

Thanks to everyone who supported him along this journey. I was writing as winter is arriving and Santino only has the clothes he brought with him from South Sudan. He can only start working in January.

Please share his campaign with anyone who can help donate funds to help him buy clothes for his America adventure.

He also needs a laptop if you know of someone who has an older extra one they are not using.

Thanks and be well,

Trevor

Santino has been training nonstop since we started this campaign and his time is improving every day. The supportive environment and high altitude in Iten, Kenya helped Santino dramatically improve his time.

He just got the bronze medal in the Uganda National Championships, which qualifies him in the Africa Senior Championship in Nigeria in August where he will be competing for South Sudan against all other Africa countries.

Santino has also received a scholarship to attend Cloud Community College in Kansas starting in August. He plans to study nursing, and train even harder for the next Olympics in Tokyo.

Now he needs help with this transition to pay for international insurance, travel costs and other incidentals.

Please help Santino on the next leg in this journey to Tokyo 2020.

Donate today and share with your friends. Together we can make this dream for Santino and South Sudan happen.

Thank everyone for all the support you have given Santino.

Thanks for all the support so far. Santino has just started training again and is preparing to go north to visit his family in the cattle camp where he is from. He sent some photos to share and lots of thanks. Please share with others who might be interested in helping him. The security situation in Juba is not getting better and he is trying to move to the mountains of Kenya to train with the world's best runners before the end of the year.
