Why is this film important?
This is a call for action and social awareness! Many people may doubt the power of cinema, but it is and always has been a powerful tool to create social change. Take past film's such as Schindler's List, Do The Right Thing, Spotlight or Get Out and the impact they all had on raising public awareness, questions, and discussions in regards to issues of race, gender, and religion. Outspoken is a monumental shift in revealing how assault victims have been treated with injustice, specifically on college campuses. The lack of protection and legal counsel many victims have been given is jaw dropping and shocking. Assault of any kind is not a joke, is a very important issue, and must not be ignored!

The Story
A young college student is sexually assaulted during a party. When reporting the crime to campus police and the dean of students, she realizes that they refuse to acknowledge her assault. With no one to turn to for help and still suffering from the traumatic attack, Judith suddenly beccomes entranced by mystical visions leading her to seek justice.

Why Gofundme?
Many challenges and nuances have been experienced when beginning this journey. I'm currently in the development stage for Outspoken and before we can begin filming, services such as scheduling & budgeting, script clearance, and casting are vital and will allow my team and I to ccomplish serious movement going into film production.

Who the heck is Matthew?
A graduate from ArtCenter College of Design with an M.F.A., I have directed films in the U.S., Germany, and Japan. For the past few years I have been sculpting and crafting this story while doing weekend jobs and freelancing in between. Now I'm ready to move to the next level. OUTSPOKEN is timely and must be shown to the world. It's intriguing, empowering, suspenseful, mystical and transformational. This is an important issue and cause I'm fighting for as well as the opportunity to preserve my creative vision of Truth, Integrity, and Justice.
