A Research Center Like No Other!
The Oceanic Urban Research Center is a Christian, fully interactive learning complex that allows children and young adults from local urban areas to gain further knowledge of the ocean that environs our state.
We take oceanic and marine biology education and conservation to a new dimension, along with teaching social skills and concepts, advanced math and reading skills. Our facility and programs will allow us to introduce ocean science related careers to inner city youth and all those who desire to learn more about the sea from a Christ centered point of view.
The Oceanic Urban Research Center will provide an atmosphere that will completely immerse visitors, staff, and most importantly our students into the world of our oceans.
Every program and all exhibits will put a special emphasis on locally found marine life and ocean biodiversity. By focusing on local interests the students will begin to have a hands on impact on the immediate surrounding areas.
The educational goal of OUR-C is to ready our students for ongoing college education in marine biology, or other ocean or marine based fields of study.
