Running to Raise Money for Alzheimer's Society
Tax deductible
On the 7th of July, my brother and I will be running the Leeds 10k to help raise money for Alzheimer's Society, as over the last couple of years we've seen first hand how cruel the disease can be. I've reached out to Alzheimer's Society to find out about what can be done to support and further the research into this devastating illness that affects so many of us. Alzheimer's Disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills which over time, will prevent the individual from being able to perform the simplest task.
Currently, £100 (approx. $127) covers the cost to support one patient with early-stage Alzheimer's for 3 months. Every £250 (approx. $317) raised can support scientists with the resources necessary to help find a way to help treat Alzheimer's and every £500 (approx. $633) raised can support over 4,000 people on Talking Point, an online community where individuals can ask questions, share experiences and ask for practical tips about living with the disease. Every 3 minutes, someone develops dementia; a mental illness commonly caused by Alzheimer's.
Any donation, big or small will help the cause one way or another. If you're unable to donate but still want to help, sharing the page and spreading the word would be greatly appreciated.
