Tissue Regeneration Conference

I am a 2nd year graduate student from the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras Campus working on Bone Tissue Regeneration for patients with osteoporosis. There are approximately 33.6 million people in the US alone (almost 17% of the population) who suffer from diseases that cause bone density loss such as osteoporosis.  I am working on the creation of an injectable scaffold with the ability to promote inherent bone formation by imitating the bone extracellular matrix and promoting cell adhesion through membrane protein binding molecules. My hypothesis is that creating a material that stimulates osteoblastic cell adhesion and differentiation through cell signaling molecules on attached to this material, new bone formation will be promoted.

My research has led me to publish my first article on December 2015 and since then have been even more so motivated to continue working and testing alternatives to promote new bone growth. Just recently I aproved my Thesis proposal defense and it seems like I am on the right track to contribute to this field. I want to perform groundbreaking research and expand my creativity and knowledge on the technologies being studied for this same purpose to guarantee the validity of my project as well as expand my scientific network. This is the reason why I wish to attend the 6th Int'l Conference on Tissue Engineering in conjunction with the 3rd Int'l Conference on Regenerative Biomedical Materials. I believe this is a tremendous opportunity to further develop my professional career and corroborate the importance and validity of my research. The conference will be taking place in Heraklion, Crete, Greece from 14/06/2017 - 19/06/2017 on Aldemar Knossos Royal Village Conference Center where my abstract has already been accepted.

For this project to continue with the correct scientific basis and guidance I wish to attend a conference to meet up with scientists knowledgeable in this field to learn about their projects and opinions on mine. I have a few savings to cover additional expenses that may spur up but I do not have enough to cover neither the fllight or registration and accomodation.
