Christina & Fam Need Our Help!!

For those of you who know Christina, you know she has spent the better part of her life putting others first. Now is our time to put her and her family first and help out with her recovery.
On October 10th, Christina suffered from a brain stem stroke when a blood clot lodged at the base of her brain stem, resulting in a deep coma and unknown prognosis. When Christina first arrived at the hospital, the doctors were unable to immediately identify the cause of the coma. However, the amazing team at Sutter Roseville Medical Center was eventually able to identify the cause of her condition and, on the neurologists hunch, performed a very risky embolectomy to remove the clot to save her life. She miraculously woke from her coma the following morning and has been fighting ever since to make what the doctors hope will be a nearly full recovery.
She and her family have a very long road ahead of them and they need our help. We hope that she will be able to make a strong recovery, but there is no doubt this is going to be a tremendous strain on the Olinghouse family - including their three young children. Christina's husband, Ben, a Captain with CAL FIRE, has not left her side since he got to the hospital and will have to take several months leave from work to support Christina through her recovery.
Since waking from her coma, Christina has had one of the most incredible recoveries the doctors could have hoped for. She has been fighting to regain strength in the right side of her body, initially she had little to no strength in her right side. She has been able to sit up AND EVEN STAND(!) with the support of her therapists. The doctors are hopeful that she will be able to make a 90% recovery over the next several months, but it is not going to come without her hard work.
As good as all this news is, it doesn't change the fact that Ben and Christina will be facing a mountain of medical bills and it is currently unknown how much of their insurance will cover Christina's ongoing therapy for her recovery. Their house will need to be retrofitted to accommodate her through this recovery and she will likely no longer be able to work as a Labor and Delivery nurse. This is a dire financial situation for them and every bit we can contribute is going to help them make it through these challenges.
I've created this GoFundMe because I know Ben and Christina would be the first people to help others in a similar situation and the last people on earth to ask for it. Every dollar contributed will be a dollar less they have to stress about in this time of need.
