NELLIE Short Film Production

Award-winning writer Steph Greegor brings her next directorial effort to audiences with her short film thriller, “Nellie.” “Nellie” is the story of a prison janitor, John, who happens upon a horrendous crime on his walk home late one night.  Greegor initially wrote “Nellie” as part of a short story horror anthology titled Little Book of Horrors; but, the beautiful complexities of the characters led her to adapt it as a screenplay. A chance meeting with Vital Companies’ Chief Marketing Officer Jason Clayton led to a partnership to co-produce the suspense drama, set for production in 2016, with a 2018 release.


Vital Companies’ Chris Kost will produce alongside Greegor, who will direct, with Vital’s John Thorne as director of photography, Katie Moorehead as first A.D., John Chapel as editor, Justin Gassman on graphics, and Britny Sanders handling digital properties.

"Nellie" will be entered into multiple film festivals with the hopes of earning distribution or financing for making a feature length film.  The making of the film will create up to 80 jobs and support the Central Ohio economy, as well as its arts community.


The money raised will be used for multiple items, including, but not limited to, hiring of cast and crew (like Storyboard Artist Derek Stewart, above!), location fees, and equipment fees.
