This fundraiser has been created to help fund the boarding and transportation costs for 46 dogs and 6 cats that unfortunately have been relinquished by an old time independent rescuer, Barbara Ross, who can no longer provide for them anymore. The decision was made solely by her when it was obvious that she was not able to care or provide for them properly anymore. At one point the local SPCA was ready to seize the animals but she realized a rescue taking them was the best thing to do for them at that point. In the name of ZOEY was not supposed to be taking in the dogs and cats, we were merely facilitating the coordination for other rescues to come meet the dogs and arrange rescue transfers, unfortunately, not one single rescue offered help. We provided medical care for each and everyone of the dogs and cats and cared for them in boarding or foster homes one or two at a time for the last five and a half months. The boarding, care and shipping costs of these animals to their forever homes has been an huge expense on the rescue and a responsibility beyond any explanation, of course, the satisfaction of seeing these dogs and cats in their now forever homes is indescribable. Thank you for helping us pay the bills we incurred during these months. We will continue to work very hard until the last 4 animals are placed in forever homes they deserve.
