Funding a Cure for Leiomyosarcoma!
Donation protected
Thank you for visiting my GoFundMe page, created to raise awareness and funds for Leiomyosarcoma Cancer Research!
My name is Ashley and I am a 25-year-old nursing student from New York. I have created this account with the hopes of raising money to host a 5K road race, which will donate 100% of the profits to the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation.
Why should you care? Well, imagine you won the lottery. Except, instead of getting 12 million dollars, you're diagnosed with cancer. Not just any cancer, but a cancer SO rare that only 8% of all people are diagnosed.
That's the reality for leiomyosarcoma patients. And unforuntely, that is the reality for my beautiful mother.
Because this form of cancer is so rare, there are no national campaigns, there are no two-day walks, there are no months designated to raise awareness. There's just families who have been afflicted, seeking to spread awareness and create research opportunities to help our loved ones.
Any donation, from $1 to $10,000, is SO appreciated. With your help, we will be able to fund greater research to improve the outlook for patients suffering from this awful disease.
