Help Erin Go To NHD Nationals
Hello! My name is Erin Magoon and I am a high school junior. This year, I have been working on an independent project about 'Rosie the Riveter' and women workers of WWII that I have entered into the National History Day (NHD) competition. At the Regional and State level competitions, I won awards from the Wisconsin Labor History Society for having a piece related to American labor history that demonstrates strong research and analysis. At the State competition, I became a National Qualifier! In June, I will be traveling to a university near Washington, D.C. to compete with like-minded youth from all 50 states. I am the first student from my school district to ever qualify for such an honor.
My piece is an Individual Performance entitled "We Can Do It: Women's Exploration of Work During and After WWII". It examines how women were impacted during their time working during WWII and their transition after the war. I have been working on it for the past 11 months. You can see a video of my presentation below.
Now I need your help! In order to participate in the National contest at the University of Maryland, College Park, I need to raise $1,530 to cover registration, travel, food, and lodging costs. This contest will be a unique experience for me to present my piece in our nation's capital and discuss history with my peers from across the nation. I am excited to have earned this opportunity to represent my community and state.
In order to show my appreciation for your generosity, I have created a reward level. For anyone donating $20 or more, I will send you a unique button created specifically for my project (see below).
