Squirrel's Fund for a Feeding Tube
Donation protected
This is our baby Squirrel he is a 7 month old English Bulldog that means the world to us. He has been struggling to survive since he was 2 weeks old when he was diagnosed with Persistent Right Aortic Arch (PRAA) and went through his first of five surgeries. This condition is caused when blood vessels that serve a function in the embryo do not naturally deteriorate as they should when the embryo matures. Because the esophagus passes by the heart these blood vessels constrict the esophagus and complicate the growth and function of the esophagus, thus restricting food passage to the stomach. This causes him to have other health issues such as megaesophagus(large sacks in his esophagus) and stunted growth (he is only 8lbs when at this age he should be 35lbs). Right now Squirrel is fed through a feeding tube that frequently falls out and requires surgery to replace and has a high risk of infection. He will never be able to eat normally due to his birth defect so he requires a $4800 surgery to give him a low profile and permanent feeding tube. This is a mandatory surgery that has to take place as soon as possible to ensure he lives a long and happy life. This would mean the world to us and we will be very grateful to anyone that can help. Anything extra we will be donated to another dog in need of this surgery as well.
