Mormon Genome Project

$13,020 of $15,000 goal

Raised by 107 people in 38 months

Mormon Genome Project was founded to determine the descendants of Mormonism's founder, Joseph Smith.

Based on historical information, it is highly likely that Joseph Smith was the father of Josephine Rosetta Lyon, daughter of Sylvia Sessions Lyon, a plural wife of Joseph Smith.

This independent project will definitively prove whether or not Josephine Rosetta Lyon is Joseph Smith's genetic daughter.

A huge thanks to all those who have donated so far. We had a great first couple of days since launching. The publicity has also helped find descendants willing to donate their DNA sample. Continued donations will help us order more kits and perform more testing. Thanks again!
