Hi guys,
My life changed forever on 6th December. My 16 yr old sister came back from school and found my mom in bed, still and non-responsive. She had gotten back from a night shift and was supposed to have been working another night shift in the evening
. When the ambulance arrived they told us she was gone and there was nothing they could do. They told us, she had been dead for hours before she was found. I was at work and my sister was at school. Even though we knew she was ill, we did not expect her to go so soon.
My mum was diagnosed with lupus in 2007. The condition caused a drastic change in her lifestyle as it affected her kidneys and heart. She had to cut her working hours and this had an impact on her finances because she had to spend more time in a hospital than at work, causing her finances to take a dip. I tried to help as much as I could with bills but we were no longer financially stable, as most of her time was spent getting dialysis. She could not live and work the same as before.
Although her life wasn't easy, her mind and spirit remained as lively as ever. She was the life and soul of our lives. She was so vibrant, lively and positive with everyone she met. For her 45 years on this earth, she left us with so many positive and happy memories even when she was fighting her worst days, battling lupus and Kidney failure.
We are asking you to help us with whatever you can so we can fulfil our mother's wish to be buried back home in South Africa. Due to our financial situation, we cannot afford to repatriate the body. Her body is currently, in hospital, a place where she did not enjoy but had to routinely go. We are kindly asking for help, to send our mom home where she can finally rest in peace.
We have looked into getting the cheapest transport but we have only managed to raise just under £1000. We need all the help we can get.
If you need further details please contact me on Facebook inbox or Instagram @l3rato
I'd be happy to answer any questions and even prove where your money has gone.
Thank you so much, everyone.
